Poll question: Which one of these sax players sounded best with Miles Davis?
I just picked a few - I'm at work so I can't get too in depth.

1. This is even a more difficult question than the Miles album question.
:nuke: I can't make my mind pick between Coltrane and Adderly!

2. I'm biased
I do love the way Wayne Shorter fit with him a lot.

Cannonball I think sounded best when Trane offset him

3. That is true...
...one of the reasons Kind of Blue is the best album ever recorded. :-)

8. there are two Billl Evans
no, Dude, I am serious. The first, was a brilliant pianist. The second, to my knowledge, is no relation and plays sax. In the later, more modern era of Davis. I find his own work fairly dull, but he played well with Miles.

9. I've heard of the boring sax player
But didn't know he ever played with Miles. What albums is he on?

12. Man With the Horn.
Early Eighties. The band was Miles, Mike Stern, Bill Evans, Marcus Miller, and Al Foster.

13. He was in the Sextet period of the early 80's
Man with the horn and Decoy come to mind - I think he is on the live LP from that era - name escapes.

14. Who wouldn't play well with Miles.?
It's a rhetorical question folks, Miles would make N'Sync sound good.

7. No way can I answer that question.
I mean you can't really compare Trane and Cannonball playing with Miles in his bop time to Shorter in his more fusion styles.

and this might perhaps reveal my ignorance, but why is Bill Evans listed? I know the pianist Bill Evans (who did play with Miles) but is there a sax player Bill Evans?

10. There was a piano player and a sax player
The paino player, I imagine, is better known. The sax player played with him in the early eighties.
