Can whiskey taste change with altitude?
I have a bottle of Tullamore Dew here.....I'm at about 6,500 feet. And for some reason it just doesn't taste good.

6. But ... none of this has anything to do with whiskey ...
... which is a very important topic, and he deserves an honest and legitimate answer.

My speculation ... no. A mere 6,500 feet in altitude should not change the taste of whiskey. On the other hand, your polar bear does indeed resemble a rat somewhat. A very healthy, well cared for, white lab rat. The result of an illconceived and all too successful experiment? Still, I would suggest drinking more whiskey, that you may be better inspired to sort all these issues out.

Peace.

4. I know that oxygen makes the tongue
more sensitive to alcohol. That's why Russians exhale completely before downing a shot. I'd guess it affects the taste somewhat.

8. been there man
I actually didn't drink on the plane. I drank at the airport bar (Hey a four hour layover headin home after the best summer of your life, and leaving a hell of a great girl that morning, what else you gonna do?)..I snuck past the flight people and kept my mouth shut. They would never have let me on.It was like I took ten sleeping pills

10. Yep
Higher altitudes affect your tastebuds, I think. There's some physiological thing that happens the higher you get. I read it in an article about airplane food--(part of) the reason airplane grub is so bland is because you're so high up.
