It's Barry Manilow night on American Idol. I'm sure he's a lovely person, but holy jeez, do his songs suck.

Barry Manilow, and I ain't afraid to admit it! I love his songs, and I'm a music person, I've played piano and flute for thirty years, so I do have SOME idea of taste. And he gives one HELLUVA concert, I finally saw him two years ago after drooling over him for almost thirty years, since I was ten years old. What time is American idol on, or did I miss it already? I'd love to see him.

He just sang it. A lot of the song that were hits he didn't write himself. Many others, he wrote the music, not the words.
