Anyone watching Boston/Montreal? 10 min. left in the 3rd and still no score? I sense lots of overtime...:)

Edit: Waiting for Vancouver/Calgary to start. Habs won 2-0.

35. I'm with you
I gave up on them the year they let Bill Guerin go.

Seems they were always letting their top scorer go... no interest in bringing a cup to Beantown at all.

9. Sorta off topic, but still hockey related ...
From OurSportsCentral:
www.oursportscentral.com/..._id=&t_id=

INDIANAPOLIS IS GETTING A USHL TEAM !!

The owner was going to pull the CHL franchise and move
it to Topeka at the end of the season anyway. A local
business dude gathered up funding and bought the name
and rights, and now we'll have some of the best Jr.
hockey in the country !! WOOOO HOOOO !!!!

:hippie: <--- LOVES USHL and NCAA hockey !!! :yourock:

19. Fargo-Moorhead might be getting a USHL team.
That is, our NAHL team might be transferred to USHL status.

20. You guys need an AHL team
Sounds like Indy is more of a hockey town than I might have thought at first...

With all the expansion, there are 30 NHL teams and only 28 in the AHL (now the only top-level minor league). Thus, 4 NHL teams have to share 2 AHL affiliates, while the other 26 get their own. Hardly seems fair to me.

Then again, Baltimore (where I first saw the sport in the early '70s) is out of the AHL again, and apparently so is Quebec City, which has now fallen all the way from the NHL ("Nordilanche") to what? Juniors? in the space of a decade. Anyone else?

http://www.canoe.ca/AHL/home.html

P.S. Turns out the two-time Cup-winning Avs have "Hockey 101" on their website.

http://www.coloradoavalanche.com/fanconnect/Hockey101.asp

What would Zen say?! Guess there are more hockey-negative people out there than I thought.

could really use a minor league hockey team. This is one stadium which really has got the goods!

10. What does the Habs win
do to the 2nd round match-ups? Since they are a 7, will the Lightning get to play them? or will they play the Flyers?

How about Thornton? What a disaster.

16. Damn
I am rooting for the Flyers (since the Blackhawks' best three forwards over the last 15 years play for them) and was hoping they wouldn't have to play the Leaves till the CF.

18. They will
Belfour is in the zone. I don't think he'll let the Leaves lose tomorrow night.

OTOH, Zhamnov's battles with Sundin were a great watch every time out. That should be fun.

29. Belfour was in the zone for all 6 games so far, and we've won 3.
I'm not knockin' the Eagle. He's incredible. Even as a Sens fan (heck, especially as a Sens fan), I am in awe of Toronto's defensive game. Especially during Friday's game, when they killed one power play after another.

Both the Leafs and the Senators have been great on defense and sloppy on offense this whole series; the majority of goals scored on both sides were total flukes.

Ottawa has a long history of losing - badly - to Toronto, especially during the playoffs. Here's hoping they can keep that jinx off for one more game.

That last second goal Vancouver scored was bullshit. I'm glad to see the Flames finally win a series after 15 years. Somewhere, Hakan Loob is smiling.

But since you play Detroit next round, well, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Detroit must go at all costs; the Wrong Wings are almost as bad as bu$h*. Therefore, I will, however reluctantly, root for Calgary.

34. You're right.
That was a bullshit goal. I don't usually whine about missed calls, but when they result in a goal like that it's really frustrating. Overall, though, both teams played their best games, and it was a good series to watch. Good luck in round 2, Calgary. :D

31. Hockey Night in Canada question
Why does Glen Healy hate my beloved Habs so much? I can understand why Don Cherry (besides being a xenophobe) could have a beef with the Habs since he was fired after he lost game 7 in OT while coaching the Bruins vs the Canadiens during the 1979 Eastern conference finals.

But Healy? Is there something i'm missing?

36. Kind of like the reason Ric Bucher hates the Timberwolves.
I've watched HNIC frequently (I only live 150 miles from the border and get CBC on cable), and wondered that myself...

It's like, you have NO idea why this guy hates your team. He writes articles surrounded by an excuse to bash your team. He hates your team, but you can never tell why...
