5. I know, I liked them too. I always made it a point to kick them.

She was so great about keeping track and posting congratulatory threads. I am a bit sentimental about this since, not only has she congratulated me for Milestones, but she made it a point to welcome me on my very first post! From that moment, and ever since, I felt as if I belonged here. She has made a lot of people on DU feel welcome and very special. I have often thanked her for this remarkable effort.:-)

Don't spank yourself! I have enjoyed your posts, as well.:-)

6. She still congratulates people, I've seen it, but it cannot be as easy

That was one of the main reasons I supported keeping the post count. Newyawker99's Milestone posts were one of the most feel-good aspects of DU.:D

4. When you want to be recognized

for hitting a milestone you are going to have to put up your own notice since it's to hard for everyone else to take note of other's numbers. :-(

7. Before the "switchover" it was easy to take note of them

Waaaay back when I did the Day at the Lounge threads I kept a steno pad out and jotted down names of people who were "about to hit one" and it was easy to track, but now that they actual numbers are "hidden" she (or someone) would have to click on everyone's profiles all the time to keep track of it..:(

and we have doubled in size too :evilgrin:

I am sure that Newyawker99 would appreciate any hints of people needing recognition.. If you see someone about to hit a milestone, drop her a note in her inbox..:) Or start one yourself :):)

I will ever be. I am aware of a few people approaching Milestones, so will make a point of tipping off newyawker. This is her thing and no one else could do it nearly so well.:-)

She welcomed me on my very first post. I was anxious about making it and her welcome made me feel much more at home. I have since come to think of DU as my second home, among sympathetic people with like ideas. I am grateful to have found DU, and newyawker's kind welcome was one of the reasons I came back and stayed. I now make a point of welcoming new members, who are especially knowledgeable, because I remember how much it meant to me.:D
