2. It is 1:17 here.
I'm listening to Art Bell talking about a report from Reuters' that says that the ocean current is slowing down and cooling off, and another report from the same news agency that says that the Artic pack ice is melting and the Alaskan natives say that the animals and fish are starving, and they are, too. And I'm drinking coffee. Guess I'll be up for a while.

4. I think they call it the Sun.
I threw rocks at it when I was out today. (But seriously, I'm so glad it finally stopped raining.)

5. So THAT's the sun! I remember now! Gee, thanks.
Between cloud cover and work schedules, I haven't seen it in quite some time.

8. Only 11pm here
But I'm an insomniac so I'll probably be up for quite a while. I love how quiet it is at night. I think that's my favorite thing about being an insomniac.

Not much ice-hockey going on in my neck of the woods. Never got into it. Looks like an exciting game though. I've heard it's not as much fun since they cut down on the fighting, though. Is that true?

15. 3 overtime periods sound like fun to me! ;-)
Edited on Sun Apr-18-04 01:35 AM by chair094
It's a lot more fun than basketball (you actually have to do something to score) and baseball/football (don't need to wait forever for the next play). Those Canadians are on to something!:)

I also spent about a third of my life in Arizona--didn't impede my interest in hockey one bit! Hockey is just about the only sport I truly enjoy (both playing and watching it).

As far as cutting down on the fighting...I've gone to a couple of games since and it's still quite fun, rest assured.

Edit: Vancouver finally won, btw. That game was a thriller!:bounce:

17. Maybe I'll get down to the Shark Tank in San Jose
and watch a game. The rules seem pretty simple to understand and not waiting around for game-play (like football) is appealing.

18. You'll have to let me know how it goes
Edited on Sun Apr-18-04 02:19 AM by chair094
:)

Play generally lasts between 1 and 3 minutes before a stoppage, btw. Far better than football/baseball, but I didn't want you to get the impression that they play for 20 minutes without any play stoppages whatsoever.:D

Have fun!

Edit: If you go to a regular season game, it will be limited to one (sudden death) overtime period, and yes, ties are possible. The unlimited overtime only kicks in during the playoffs.

1:30 am...absolutely not tired. Still, I went to bed. I figure I spent the next two hours staring at a dark ceiling. :) It's ok though...I get a lot of thinking done at times like that.

21. Here in Califorina it's 12:37 AM
I'm watching a repeat of SNL, but not with the sound, because I'm listening to my John Mellencamp CD. My dog was neutered on Friday so I'm periodically checking to make sure he hasn't gotten outta his cone so he doesn't....well, you know. I want to go to sleep just because I never get any sleep, but it's hard to be tired when I haven't been outside all day because it's been raining. Oy.

27. Southern California
Specifically Orange County (which I'm unfortunate enough to live in). Rained most of the day, I'd say 90% of it, and it was really nice around 8 outside, the sky was just awesome.

23. 12:48 in Eugene Oregon.
I got burned out last night so I think I will sit in my room and drink a couple of 40's and play on the internet. Maybe listen to some music too. Not exiting, but I'm getting old.
