How telemarketers are getting around the national no-call list
Watch out in your web surfing! Through some innocent clicks you may inadvertently end up at some web site that tracks your movement and then the company calls you up -- which is a way around the national "do not call" registry. One of the exceptions to the registry is that a company you've dealt with in the past can call you. I just got a call from a pushy tele-marketer who claims I visited his company's web site. I didn't, but it's entirely possible that a pop-up or some other method launched my browser to the web site of that company -- and to them, I was visiting the site, looking for information, and thus a "customer" in their minds.

1. Caller ID Is One Answer
Bertha and I simply do not answer the phone when the caller has blocked the originating number.
