Man Trapped Under Organ For 10 Days - Hospitalized
<snip>

SANDUSKY -- A 50-year-old man remained hospitalized in critical condition last night as a result of being trapped under an organ in his apartment for up to 10 days, according to Sandusky police and people involved in the case.

On Wednesday afternoon, two men found Elex Pentorn Jr. trapped under an organ in his McDonough Street apartment, according to Sandusky police. It was unclear exactly how long Pentorn was trapped beneath the instrument, but mail in his mailbox dated back to April 2, building owner Mark Bertsch said.

On Wednesday, a tenant called Bertsch and said Pentorn's mail had been piling up in the building, Bertsch said. Bertsch forwarded the information to two of his employees, Jack Johnson of Market Street and Edward J. Ferback of Campbell Street, who went to check on Pentorn's apartment.

Johnson and Ferback used a master key to enter a back door in the apartment, said Johnson.

4. How does one get trapped under an organ?
He jacked it up to look underneath it or what? If so, why?

6. Probably trying to emulate Keith Emerson...
They should check to see if there's knives in the organ as well. :)

Keith Emerson usually does a bit in concerts where he takes an old organ, pushes it around the stage to make obnoxious noise, then pushes it over, but runs around and catches it before it hits the floor. He then lays (lies? whatever...) down on his back, and puts the organ on top of him. He then proceeds to play a Back fugue backwards and upside down. Quite impressive, really.

7. I have the same response to that. Why?
I guess if one can't actually play the fugue in an impressive way "conventionally", might as well have some fun and get some laughs at the same time. Kind of like Victor Borge (RIP). But he actually could play impressively AND he was quite funny as well. One of his gags was to turn the score upside down, start playing, look puzzled, then flip the score over and resume playing. Cheap slapstick but still very funny, mostly as a result of his facial expressions.
