3. do you like DC Berman's poetry
he's much better within the confines of a SONG.

i don't know if he's going to cut any more Jews records. IIRC he stated in some interview that he wished the Cure had parted ways after Head On The Door, and therefore he must stop recording & releasing his songs.

4. Never heard the Silver Jews but I hate Pavement...
They were basically a jam band with better record collections than say Phish or Blues Traveller or any of those other hippie bands.

The whole meandering slacker thing just drove me out of my mind.

Sebadoh and Superchunk mined slightly similar territory with much better results for me personally.

And Pavement fans tend to be just as insufferable as the band itself.

5. yeah
well the Silver Jews occasionally collaborated with the Pavement singer/guitarist/spokesman Steven Malkmus. But, uh, Silver Jews' lyrics are very good and well-conceived, and the music exhibits a capacity for CRAFTSMANSHIP. you might D/L "Natural Bridge" if you've no moral objections to music piracy

6. I'll give it a shot....thanks.....
I only d/l to see if I like something and if I do, then I buy it. If not then I delete it.

But yeah, that's my problem with Pavement. Everything feels half formed and there doesn't seem to be any attempt at craftsmanship.

11. Hey!
You don't even know me, so don't assume I'm insufferable. Love Superchunk too but can't stand Sebadoh.

13. Ah..you know I"m kidding.....
I count Pavement fans among some of my best friends. But when it comes to that band.....ugh. They make deadheads look like casual music listeners.

8. the thing with pavement
is that they suck but they are one of the best shitty bands ever. Thats their appeal, that and they actually write good songs, sometimes.

9. Hmm. Best Shitty Band? I think there's something in there.
Shambolic, I would say, but with enough diamonds in the birdsnest to be enjoyable.
