My baby brother turns 15 tomorrow.

He's the first American, really, in our family. When we came to America, he was not quite 5, and so he was socialized here almost completely. Today, he's the only one of us who has almost no accent, except for those whose ears are attuned to hear the faint, soft traces of Athlone in his otherwise-pure South Side Irish vocabulary.

Although he's as tall as I am, and has a deep voice and the faint beginnings of a beard, I'll always see him as the little boy who always wanted to hold my hand and go with me wherever I went. Though he annoys the shyte out of me some times, I love him dearly.

It's beautiful, green and it's people warm and friendly. It's one of the few countries in the world where Americans are truly well-liked. :)
