Mating season?
We have a very realistic looking, life-sized, plastic Great Blue Heron affixed to our dock rail. Gender is unknown.

It is so real looking that passing boaters have stopped to photograph it.
However, I didn't realize just how completely authentic it is until this morning.

I heard squawking and screeching, and looked out to see a live, young Great Blue Heron perched on the rail about ten feet from the statue. He(?) was preening and fluffing his feather and casting inquiring glances at our replica.

Poor guy.

3. Hey Trof.
I know that many of the Dear Readers in the lounge will not believe this story, but I have two Plastic Pink Flamingos as room mates. One might wonder how it came to be that I have two Plastic Pink Flamingos as room mates. Well I am not going to explain but if you archive (The Failed Pink Flamingo Caper) from a year or two ago you will understand.

Anyway I caught them frolicking on my bed one day and I took a picture of the startling scene.

And if you do not believe this story just ask JitterbugPerfume. She knows that I speak the truth in all things.

5. The rutting season
for sure.

It's also KITTEN season! Wish I could go get another new kitty, but since I'm moving to a smaller place, I think I should just stick to the 3 I already have.
