Worlds most expensive Scotch
NEW YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 03/31/2004 -- The world's most expensive and exclusive single malt Scotch whisky vintage collection --The Macallan® Fine & Rare Vintage Collection of 38 bottles valued at $170,000 -- will debut exclusively at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City.


Prices for The Macallan Fine & Rare Vintage Collection by the glass will range from $50 to $3,500. Upon ordering a dram of one of The Macallan Fine & Rare Vintages, the consumer will receive a special Spiegelau whisky snifter, and a leather passport containing tasting notes for each vintage and an area for a stamp highlighting the date of consumption(1). The consumer will keep both the snifter and the passport, and subsequently present the passport as additional drams are sampled from The Macallan's unique history of liquid excellence.

Dude, Macallan goes with Wal Mart brand Fruit Punch with a couple cherries and an orange sherbet Push-Up as a stirrer.

6. I was at a scotch store here in NYC last December,
and saw a number of scotches in the $5,000 a bottle range.

Would be fun to try one of those babies someday - on someone else's expense accuont - and see if they are 100 times better than a $50 bottle.

Though I don't doubt that they ARE better indeed...

heck, I wouldn't mind trying one of the $300 bottles.

I've never had the moxy to spend anywhere near that much for a bottle of liquor.
