8. Thanks! This thing shreds...
It's basically an officially licensed version of the guitar Eddie Van Halen designed back in 1991...Check out the company's site!

2. Cool For You! I Did A Very Republican Thing Saturday!
Glad you're happy. I bought a new guitar too, this weekend.

I went to look at a special edition Tele. It has a carved top, bound, with two humbuckers. List is abotu $840, or so.

Problem was, it had the carved top set the same way as the normal Tele body, which is that the top third of the body is a separate piece of wood. The carved maple top though, had the grain running perpendicular to the other 2/3rds. So, i played it thinking maybe if it played superbly and sounded terriric, i'd get past the cross graining. No, on both counts.

So, somewhat disappointed, i wandered around a bit and saw a Mexican Stratocaster and i ended up buying it. Why? (That's the Republican part.)

I bought the guitar because it matches the decor of my rec room. Yeah, i know! I bought a guitar i don't need because the metallic sage green would look so good hanging on my pale green walls!

It does play nicely, and it sounds good, especially in positions 2 and 4 with the reverse wound middle pickup. But, i bought it because it matched the decor.

No buyer's remorse, but some liberal guilt hanging over my head today.

3. At least you didn't buy a green guitar because it was Masters Sunday.
By the way, you are certifiably addicted. I'm sure you know this.

6. This had to be mentioned
Look... still has the old tag on, never even played it.

You've never played... ?

Don't touch it!

We'll I wasn't going to touch it, I was just pointing at it.

Well... don't point!

Don't point, okay. can I look at it?

No.

--------------------------------------

The sustain, listen to it.

I don't hear anything.

Well you would though, if it were playing.

You've got me reminiscing about when I bought my Fender HM Strat home. I went into the store planning to buy an American Standard Stratocaster, but the difference between the way it and the HM felt was the difference between Hamburger Helper and prime rib! So I kicked in the extra bucks and have never regretted it--fit and feel are everything. Just picture this guitar in black.
