Movies You Can Watch Over And Over And Over Again
Its okay. Call me stupid and easily entertained. You're probably right!

Not in any particular order:

Last Of The Mohicans, 1992 version with Madeleine Stowe and Daniel Day-Lewis.

Midnight Run, with De Niro and Charles Grodin.

Back To The Future. I told you!

Here Comes Mr. Jordan.

The Saint, with Elizabeth Shue and Val Kilmer.

Heartbreak Ridge.

The Day The Earth Stood Still.

I'm sure there are more.

You?

9. Sophies Choice, is
probably one of the most heart wrenching movies I've ever seen. i had such a heavy heart after I watched that.

And speaking of Meryl Streep, IronWeed, I think was the name of the movie. *sigh*. I was sooooo depressed when I walked out of the theater after seeing THAT movie. Ugh.

17. Sophie's Choice
was rough to watch at times. Chills run down my spine every time I watch the little girl being torn from Meryl Streep and being sent to Auschwitz.

23. That's the scene that breaks my heart.
She was asked to choose between her children which one they would take. OMFG. She had to make a choice.

Oh, I don't think I could stand to watch the movie again.

And the ending. *sniff*

24. Baraka! Waking Life. Toto the Hero
Edited on Mon Apr-12-04 03:23 AM by SnowGoose
Can't believe how many times you can go back to Baraka and derive new levels of meaning and connection between the parts.

It's really a fantastic movie.

The Brothers Quay have an anthology on Kino DVD that's vastly revisitable as well.

Oh, and how come no one has mentioned Waking Life, eh?

But for whatever reason, the movie I keep going back to is Toto the Hero. To borrow a line from Living in Oblivion (itself worth a couple of viewings), it's the "Greatest film ever made by a human being". Ok, nobody else I know thinks that, but everybody I've made watch it at least respected it.

I absolutely love that movie. Catch something new every time, like an era-appropriate prop or just a clever facial expression in the background.

Also:

Monty Python and the Holy Grail
The Fugitive
The Out of Towners (Lemmon version)
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Back to the Future I
Ferris Bueller's Day Off

If I'm flipping through the channels and it's on FX (edited to death) or HBO (unedited) I have to watch the movie. Heck I could quote the damn movie it's so awesome!!!

Droz: What some advice?
Tom: Well, yeah.
Droz: Well, here's all you need to know: Classes, nothing before eleven. Beer, it's your best friend, you drink a lot. Women? You're a freshman, so it's pretty much out of the question. Will you have a car?
Tom: Uhh... no.
Droz: Someone on your floor will. Find them and make friends with them on the first day.
