6. Fantastic Robin Williams movie on this "ideology"!

It's called "Survivors" and also stars Walter Matthau and Jerry Reed. Robin Williams gets fired from his job (by a parrot his boss taught to say "You have been a valuable employee...You're fired) and decides to go off and join one of these survival camps. it is one of his very first movies and, I think his funniest, full of lines like "I just love the smell of malamute in the morning" and "doesn't that make your sphincter tingle", probably Williams ad-libs. It's a must-see!!!

9. Oh, these guys don't look too bad

just run of the mill survivalists. Some Christian overtones, but generally just those that enjoy planning for cataclysms as a hobby. It's a diversion that's been around for ages; all Mormons are required to keep at least one years food on hand. Most racists are survivalists but most survivalists aren't racists. I don't even see the Turner Diaries mentioned in any of the book lists, which is a good sign. Lemme get on their forums, see how many have stormtrooper avatars and I'll report back.

Probably not the most common view on this particular BBS but it's there. There's a Southern Heritage Forum with a few Stars and Bars but no racist comments that I saw. These guys aren't bad at all.
