5. I've heard Republicans say
That Bill's penis is like Medusa - One look and they'll turn to stone!

Actually, Bill Clinton represents a focal point for the Repubs. He is a tangible thing that they can all point to and say, "Look! That is liberalism!" Bennett is one of their own - a wayward fundamentalist christian that has admitted his sin and is forgiven.

2. Forgive Bill Bennett for what?
Gambling? Smoking?

Come on.

I know what you're trying to say, but these people believe (some of them anyway, and they're idiots for it) that Clinton committed rape and murder.

17. Bennet has made a career out of being the voice of morality
In 48 of the fifty states gambling is considered so immoral that it is illegal. It is the Hypocrisy and you may or may not know what Christ said of the hypocrites.

11. Gambling, smoking, drinking, womanizing . . . it's all legal.
I see your point: just because it's legal doesn't make it right. But, apparently, Clinton might have perjured himself and that IS illegal.

13. do we have to argue that old cannard yet again?
Suffice to say that appearances can and usually are deceiving. In the instance of the so-called perjury, they are even more so.

14. I said "supposed lie", "apparent perjury". I'm not making a judgment.
A question was asked about freeper thinking and I answered the question as my freeper friends would. I made it clear that my answer was based on freeper input.

Lying under oath is not even a crime if it is not pertinent to the subject matter which it wasn't. And in fact by legal standards he did not even do that. He was charged with giving misleading testimony not lying.

4. They're paid to.
Who's got all the money? The Scaifes and other greedy turds. Who helps them keep their dough and reap ill-gotten gains at the expense of the nation as a whole? Many Republicans and Democrats in leadership positions who serve the rich, led by their well-armed stooges, the Bush Organized Crime Family.

8. Easy answer
Republicans are by nature moral, while Democrats are by nature immoral, Republicans can therefore find redemption and be forgiven while Democtats cannot.

The essence of hypocrisy is to CONDEMN in OTHERS what you overlook in YOURSELF ( or your team )! And the Greedy Old Party is the epitomy of hypocrisy.

22. It is only immoral if Bennett says so?????
48 out of 50 states have determined it so immoral that they made it illegal. I guess that doesn't count especially if you write a book on morality. You know the book of morals.

23. His WHOLE msg. has been "Where's the outrage?" !!!
He's been begging for outrage over the peccadilloes OF OTHERS.
So it's hypocrisy for him or for his supporters to complain if there is outrage over HIS failings.

Gambling may not be a CRIME, but Bennett poses as a paragon of CHRISTIAN VIRTUE, not just a run of the mill "law-abiding citizen".

And gambling on a GRAND SCALE (as opposed to inconsequential throw of the dice) can be a serious moral failing in Christian circles. I argue in http://www.LiberalsLikeChrist.Org/Challenge that sharing one's wealth is one of the most crucial demands of Christ, and blowing $8,000,000 even if his family approved (ha-ha-ha), instead of helping the homeless and the hungry, etc. is more serious than Clinton's lying about what wasn't the government's business to begin with.

that work and clean the Casino's?

I think that money has a chance of helping more people now that it is not in Bennet's hands.

Fictional man in the sky has nothing to do with it.
