Cheap-labor conservatives don't like . . .
- Cheap-labor conservatives don't like social spending or our "safety net". Why. Because when you're unemployed and desperate, corporations can pay you whatever they feel like – which is inevitably next to nothing. You see, they want you "over a barrel" and in a position to "work cheap or starve".

- Cheap-labor conservatives don't like the minimum wage, or other improvements in wages and working conditions. Why. These reforms undo all of their efforts to keep you "over a barrel".

- Cheap-labor conservatives like "free trade", NAFTA, GATT, etc. Why. Because there is a huge supply of desperately poor people in the third world, who are "over a barrel", and will work cheap.

- Cheap-labor conservatives oppose a woman's right to choose. Why. Unwanted children are an economic burden that put poor women "over a barrel", forcing them to work cheap.

- Cheap-labor conservatives don't like unions. Why. Because when labor "sticks together", wages go up. That's why workers unionize. Seems workers don't like being "over a barrel".

- Cheap-labor conservatives constantly bray about "morality", "virtue", "respect for authority", "hard work" and other "values". Why. So they can blame your being "over a barrel" on your own "immorality", lack of "values" and "poor choices".

- Cheap-labor conservatives encourage racism, misogyny, homophobia and other forms of bigotry. Why? Bigotry among wage earners distracts them, and keeps them from recognizing their common interests as wage earners.

come on, folks . . . there's 30,000 of us! . . . let's give birth to this idea and make it happen! . . . nine months from now, the entire country should be equating republicans with cheap-labor conservatives . . .

1. It's Neo-conomics 101
They want highly skilled, hard working, and extremely cheap labor pools while the capital class enjoys ever increasing risk and tax-free profits.

3. Big problem with this
THEY AREN"T CONSERVATIVES.

Conservatives want smaller government. (Reagan/Bush/Bush beleive in larger)
Conservatives believe in lower taxes. (deficits are taxes)
Conservatives believe in less government interference. (War on Drugs. Patriot Act)
Conservatives believe in fair business pracitices based on competition. Conservatives believe in less government interference. (Reagan/Bush/Bush beleive in government favoring specific industries who bribe them)
Conservatives believe in a meritocracy. (Reagan/Bush/Bush believe corporate welfare for those who bribe them)
Conservatives believe in a isolation and America first. (Reagan/Bush/Bush believe in war to support the Big oil and Big defense concerns who bribe them)

Conservatives and liberals could coexist. Maybe actually even complement each other. It is the corporatists who have hijacked the word conservative who are the enemy.

4. Good luck. My guess is this will go the way of QuestionW.
Tearing down the GOP is fun and I love doing it too. It's just that the only people who seem to get excited about our Bush and GOP-bashing efforts seem to be people who are already converted to our way of thinking. Usually, liberal democrats.

In other words, we don't seem to be making much of an impression on the independents and the moderates. I keep waiting for QuestionW to take off. But honestly, I was skeptical about that too.

But, by all means go for it. And good luck. I hope you convert lots and lots of people with your "cheap-labor conservative" campaign.
