Question About War Casualty Count
Currently 485 reported dead. If a soldier is wounded in battle and later dies as a result of his or her wounds does that solder's death show up in this figure or do they remain under the category of wounded?

1. with only one exception I can think of
wounded who later die have not been added to the KIA total.

The only exception I can think of was two (I think) soldiers who initially survived the big helicopter shoot-down, but died during the next day or two.

4. I suppose it depends on how long afterward they die, but....
Generally speaking, if a soldier doesn't die in the field and makes it through emergency surgery, they're probably going to make it. (I recall reading an article a while back from a journalist asking the same question, I'll have to look for the link when I get home.) Medics can do quite a bit to stabilize patients on the ground, medevac is usually performed within minutes (by ground or air), surgical units aren't far away, and medical technology is gotten pretty advanced....

5. Just think how high deaths would be without modern evac &medical care
We have had thousands of injuries. I believe over 7000 soldiers are crippled.
