Re: FBI: Be on the lookout for people carrying almanacs, Dec. 30.

A few days ago, while buying a newspaper at a New York City bookstore, I waited to pay my dollar in front of a display of almanacs for 2004. I didn't buy one then because of the price. After reading your article about the FBI almanac alert, I plan to buy several copies, distribute them to like-minded friends, and encourage them to join me in carrying the almanacs proudly, and even provocatively, wherever we go.

It will go over about as big as duct tape or bring 'em on or mission accomplished.

My ex told me that the grocery store where she shops is giving away almanacs to anyone who buys a certain amount of groceries. To be sure, this offer was available before the dire FBI warning, but can you imagine all of the terror suspects running loose in East Texas thanks to this store?

It's good to see this starting to get the negative press it deserves.
