Graham: Call Saudi Arabia's Bluff
Bob Graham has written a formal letter to Dubya, demanding declassification:

http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/news/state/6406404.htm

<<WASHINGTON -- Sen. Bob Graham formally asked President Bush on Monday to make public a 28-page section of the congressional report on the Sept. 11 attacks that deals with Saudi Arabian terrorism links.

...

Graham, who was chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, urged Bush to, in effect, call the Saudi bluff and declassify most of the section.

...

The Bush administration says ''only the most sensitive of national security information'' was kept out of the 858-page report, released Thursday.

But Sen. Pat Roberts, R-Kan., who chairs Senate Intelligence, said part of the report was kept secret ''to protect the Saudis,'' and several senators have joined Graham in calling for its declassification.>>

Saudis said yesterday, bring it on, Bush said no.

3. A show for the gullible
The Saudis said publicly, "Declassify it; we've got nothing to hide." Privately, they're totally and completely assured that the corrupt Bush administration has no intention of ever releasing any of the damaging information. It's as scripted as a pro wrestling match, and the outcome is already decided.

But it is curious, is it not, that the Saudis seem to know already what the report might have to say about them and their involvement with international terrorists? So, who is being kept in the dark by classifying the report? Obviously not the Saudis. And if they know, you can bet that their terrorist clients know. And if the Saudis know, then the Israelis know. Not to mention our good friends in Britain, and defense partners in NATO.

So, who is the secret being kept from? The people who paid for the investigation, the American public, that's who.

4. This is self-defeating for Bush.
He can't win by hiding the information. He can't win by releasing it either. He's fornicated.

5. The Saudi's are coming here to get smirk's assurances
that the classified portions will never see the light of day. All smokescreens and mirrors on both sides. Makes it look like the Saudi's want to truth to come out, when in reality they know it never will and they want smirk's personal assurance. Why else would they suddenly seek a meeting with smirk? It's not to ask for declassification, it's to shake hands over the fact it never will.

The gamesmanship of these people is quite amazing, when you look at it. They manipulate your thinking the way they want it. And without media scrutiny of any of it, joe sixpack swallows it all hook, line and sinker.
