Why not a greater push for IRV?
My apologies if this has been covered before but I'm relatively new to the forum. Everything that I've read about IRV indicates that this is the fairest system. Why isn't there a greater push to establish this as the norm for voting? Just seems to make so much sense.

1. I agree.
There is no perfect system, but IRV avoids many of the problems of other voting systems.

But maybe that's the answer to your question. There is no perfect system, and better is (for many people) not good enough.

"Let not the best be the enemy of the good." Support IRV at all levels -- including the popular election of the president.

2. IRV is a tragic hero
It is the right solution but it cannot pass. IRV would take away the power the smaller states currently hold. And since a 2/3's majority is required to pass a constitutional ammendment it will never pass.

3. DK supports IRV.
Do any other candidates support it?

IRV would have negated the Florida fiasco. Is it that the dems don't want any 3rd parties to gain a foothold?
