Re our Surging Economy, its Christmas time with many gifts, on Borrowed
money. Bush will claim he fixed it, brought the DOW up and the jobs back. He will claim the economy Victory.

But is it really? Its all short term and we have not yet faced reality of paying the Bills. Reagan did this, built a 600 warship fleet, etc, all on borrowed monies. Then came the bill collector, enter recession. Bush will soon see, these Pubs never learn, perhaps they don want to. Its all for "me"" baby.

1. Yep
I totally agree. I wouldn't be surprised if the first quarter of next years brings renewed examination of the failure of the Bush Adminstration.

I also think that if the Republicans win in 2004 it will be somewhat of a phryricc victory for them, as all the failures of the economy and President Bush's foreign policy will be totally evident while he is in office.

Still for the American people's sake I hope we get a sensible person in there (like, well, any of our candidates).

Bryant

4. great article posted today in Economics
"Debt may feel like wealth when it is being spent."

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=114&topic_id=4164

"Led by the Federal Reserve, the world's central banks have spent five years pursuing some of the most reckless monetary policies ever seen in the developed world. Next year, though, their barmy bets will finally start to come undone.

"The crackup won't start happening until the end of 2004 -- after George Bush, the market's favorite for president, has been safely re-elected -- but the coming deluge will usher in a period of global economic malaise and dire losses in financial markets."
