The Parmalat scandal is known as Italy's Enron.
Apparently Calisto Tanzi, the founder, is languishing in jail.

Why isn't Ken Lay? If this is similar to Enron, shouldn't he be in jail too?

MILAN (Reuters) - An Italian judge on Tuesday ordered the disgraced founder of insolvent food group Parmalat to remain in jail as prosecutors questioned members of his family about one of Europe's biggest corporate scandals.

Calisto Tanzi, who built Parmalat into a global company employing 35,000 people, admitted on Monday that he diverted some $625 million from the publicly listed company into firms controlled by his family.<snip> more......

1. I saw that on BBC News the Other Day
If only corporate thieves were punished in this country. Near in mind, that this guy is in jail during Italy's most pro-corporate government since Mussolini.
