There are two keys to victory...

1) Get out the vote

3. Angery can blind though
Anger alone CANNOT WIN THIS ELECTION.
Anger + smart startegy can. If we rely on just being a party of outrage, we will lose.

4. Only anger can energize us to turn out the vote...
Only anger can bring out the Democratic base, win the Independents, excite the Greens, move the Moderates, convince the Conservatives..

Anger is a gift..

5. You're right, anger IS a gift
If it is used correctly.
But remember we are fighting an enemy who can spin anything against us- including our outrage. We must be very careful..
2004 is the battle for our country. We must be careful, we must WIN. We can win with anger, but not on anger alone.

6. Just the opposite im afraid
Anger and fear are the feul of the conservatives fire. Democratic solutions require reason and level headed approaches. Anger can quickly be turned against us.

Why is it that we allow the Repukes to spew their hatred/anger at the "liberals", yet we are too spineless to return the favor - in spades.

Remember Truman. His anger at the Repukes, expressed by pounding the truth in their faces, got him elected in a major upset.

Let's fuel their fire. Let's see what they are made of when we throw anger, in the form of TRUTH, right back at them.

8. ANYTHING can and will be used against us.
Anger is an emotion that we evolved with over thousands of years. Instead of fearing it - or succumbing to establishment propaganda that tells us it's evil - we should learn how to harness it, like fire.

I've been politically active for several years and have run for office three times. One of the most disturbing things I've witnessed is the lack of healthy, normal anger. We've become a nation of zombies who have forgotten how to love and hate.

9. Be careful with anger - in 1977 in Australia,
after Prime Minister Gough Whitlam had been ousted in 1977 not by the voters but by the Governor-General (an appointed position - Whitlam appointed the guy himself), his Labor Party ran to try and get back into government. Their slogan was "Maintain the Rage." The voters didn't like it. They lost in a landslide.

10. Anger can also blind you to the truth and be self destructive
which unfortunately apppears to be the case in the Democratic primary.

11. Those who are not angry are ignorant of the truth... or in denial

Anyone aware of BushCo's crimes should be livid. What the hell is wrong with anger? Were you ever angry at someone who did you wrong? Are you NOT angry at all that Bush has done to Americans?

If you are a Bush crony, you are not angry; you are ecstatic.

Are 9/11 victims angry?
Are homeless veterans angry?
Are unemployed angry?
Are soldiers in Iraq angry - are their families?
Are 51 million Gore voters who voted for a winner angry?
Are 95,000 blacks disenfranchised by Bush/Harris in Fla angry?
Are Jews in Palm Beach Cty angry because their votes flew like a butterfly to Buchanan?
Are those concerned about global warming angry?

I believe the anger is below the surface. Seething. It's what revolutions are made of.

Anger is a gift. Channel it to victory.

12. Not Angry...Determined
There are so many good things Democrats stand for...and the list of abused and disenfranchised by this regime grows, so anger is already there, thus a positive message is more needed than ever.

We don't have to convince anyone that * is a waste of atomic matter and another 4 years of this cabal means further ruin to our economy and civil liberties. I prefer to show where things should be...fair and equitable, realistic and pragmatic and open and exclusive...it's an argument few Republicans can dispute.

There's a growing tide of moderate discontent brewing and anger and polarization is handing an election that will be extremely difficult to win on even terms.

Until there's a single Presidential candidate, I talk to my Republican acquaintances about the overall picture and let them go the venting and anger...then I waive the alternatives and it's amazing how receptive those who just a year ago were completely dismissive are.
