Such appointments are valid until the next Congress takes office, in this case in January 2005.

3. Dunno, since I never heard of any of these people
...though it is scary having several Bush appointees at the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Given that they're big contributors to Bush odds are pretty good they're far-right ideologues... and we know what those guys want to do to public broadcasting.

On the other hand, this might shut up the repugs who *still* complain about Clinton's recess appointments.

4. I have no problem with any president making recess appointments.
However, just for fun I would quote some republican members of Congress on Clinton's recess appointments if I was a Senator.
