In that order. I think Oprah deserves it. She's recently redeemed herself IMHO by focusing the world's attention on the AIDs epidemic in South Africa. Her politics are questionable but her concern for humanity and her philanthropy are not.
Letterman has leveraged his career, IMHO, on bringing some balance to the partisan politics in the "liberal" media--even if it's only thru jokes.
O'Reilly....well, we all know what he stands for.
Leno...:puke:
The poll seems, on the surface, to have named a balanced group: two rabid conservatives along with two progressive/liberal types. You'd think this would translate into balance in the media. A look closer at the contents of these winners' shows, and it seems to these people epitomize the state of the media today. While Oprah and Letterman are humane and Letterman brings some balance to late night TV, very little time is spent on either of their shows addressing the serious political issues facing this country. Of course, their formats don't necessarily lend themselves to politics.
On the other hand, Leno unabashedly flaunts his political views nightly. And of course he and O'Reilly spend a considerable amount of time cheerleading, flag-wrapping and ignoring truths in order to promote the right's skewed views to the detriment of the nation.
Do you agree or disagree?
