Keep Terror Alive! Babs and Poppy milk 9-11 for Smirko...
Edited on Thu Dec-25-03 11:25 PM by Octafish
Recently saw Babs and Poppy Bushler in their 9-11/1000 Pints o' Lite commercial. It was the most disgusting appropriation of the deaths of thousands of human beings for an evil cause as any in my memory.

Basically, Barbara Bush and George Herbert Papa Doc Bush got 60 seconds of air-time to use as a campaign commercial for the re-selection of their dim son. While pictures of the families of men and women who died in 9-11 were played (in slow-mo, high-res, nothing but the best in production values), the Bushes voiced over pleas for a new park, survivors' benefits, etc for the victims September 11 — all through their Thousand Points of Light Foundation.

Not that it's worse than using the fallen for political fodder, but the network probably provided gross free publicity for the GOP, comped to the 1000 Pints of Lite as a "Public Service Announcement." Keep Terror Alive! Re-select the crazy monkey.

EDIT: From bow to stern.

1. what channel was this "puke-o-rama" on??
That's so awful I don't know what to think.

Hey Poppy, if you'd just finished off that SOB back in '91 instead of listening to your Saudi friends and clearing out before you'd cleaned up, we wouldn't have all these American men and women dead in Iraq in 2003.

What did we do to deserve the Bush family? How did this happen?

6. WGN-Chicago, Superstation to us all.
To make this even more painful, the Pro-Bush infomercial was aired during the Tribune Co's flagship station's annual broadcast of "Scrooge," the 1951 adaptation of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol."

"Let them die and decrease the excess population."

7. Seem to benefit the RIGHT kind, ENRON and Southwest Energy f'r instance.
ENRON's Cliff Baxter would have made a great eyewitness to all sorts of off shore mal-fee-uhnce. Does anyone remember that other energy company veep who "suicided" just a short time later? Was he from Southwest Power, a company named as one of the big supporters of the Points of Light Foundation?

ENRON ENTITY TO PURCHASE LAS VEGAS COGENERATION

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, September 1, 1999

HOUSTON - Enron North America Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Enron, announced today that Southwest Power, L.L.C., an entity owned by Enron, an affiliate of Enron and a non-affiliated investor, has purchased Las Vegas Cogeneration, L.P. and SUNCO, Ltd. from The United Company.

Las Vegas Cogeneration owns a 50-megawatt combined cycle power plant located in North Las Vegas. Designated as a "qualifying facility" under the Public Utilities Regulatory Policy Act of 1978, the plant delivers power under contract to Nevada Power while SUNCO serves as the plant’s thermal host.

"The high demand growth experienced by the Las Vegas region coupled with the anticipated opening of the Nevada power market in March 2000, makes this asset very attractive to Enron" said Cliff Baxter, Chairman and CEO of Enron North America. "In addition to its strategic location, the asset provides an opportunity for Enron to expand capacity in a power-constrained region."

The United Company is a privately held holding company headquartered in Bristol, Virginia, with interest in financial services, oil and gas, roof supply distribution, golf operations and real estate.

10. Thanks, oasis! Here's a nice primer on "The Family That Preys Together."
There once was a publication that published the truth about the BFEE long before that term was even a twinkle in this DUer's eye...

The Family That Preys Together

From Issue No. 41, Summer, 1992
by Jack Colhoun

GEORGE JR.'S BCCI CONNECTION "This is an incredible deal, unbelievable for this small company," energy analyst Charles Strain told Forbes magazine, describing the oil production sharing agreement the Harken Energy Corporation signed in January 1990 with Bahrain.

Under the terms of the deal, Harken was given the exclusive right to explore for gas and oil off the shores of the Gulf island nation. If gas or oil were found in waters near two of the world's largest gas and oil fields, Harken would have exclusive marketing and transportation rights for the energy resources. Truly an "incredible deal" for a company that had never drilled an offshore well.

Strain failed to point out, however, the one fact that puts the Harken deal in focus: George Bush, Jr., the eldest son of George and Barbara Bush of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, DC, is a member of Harken's board of directors, a consultant, and a stockholder in the Texas-based company. In light of this connection, the deal makes more sense. The involvement of Junior-George Walker Bush's childhood nickname-with Harken is a walking conflict of interest. His relationship to President Bush, rather than any business acumen, made him a valuable asset for Harken, the Republican Party benefactors, Middle East oil sheikhs and covert operators who played a part in Harken's Bahrain deal.

In fact, Junior's track record as an oilman is pretty dismal. He began his career in Midland, Texas, in the mid-1970s when he founded Arbusto Energy, Inc. When oil prices dropped in the early 1980s, Arbusto fell upon hard times. Junior was only rescued from business failure when his company was purchased by Spectrum 7 Energy Corporation, a small oil firm owned by William DeWitt and Mercer Reynolds. As part of the September 1984 deal, Bush became Spectrum 7's president and was given a 13.6 percent share in the company's stock. Oil prices stayed low and within two years, Spectrum 7 was in trouble.

12. It's the awful truth.
So's the printing format. For that kind of tall column, I'll cut-n-paste it into Word, say. Then go to the top and, line-by-line, go to the end and hit "Delete." That usually brings the next line up to the end of the first short one. It's a drag to go through a giant article like this one, but learning and spreading the facts about the BFEE make it worthwhile.

There was one issue of Covert Action Information Bulletin from around 1990 devoted largely to Poppy Bush and the NAZI-CIA-BFEE genesis. If you see it, buy it. It's got this picture on the cover:

My issue I loaned out and never got back. Unfortunately, I can't find a sampler online yet, but Tarpley gets most of its essence in the "Unauthorized Biography of George HW Bush."

Chapter XVI

Campaign 1980

EXCERPT...

One leading bastion of the Bushmen was predictably David Atlee Philip's AFIO, the Association of Former Intelligence Officers. Jack Coakley was a former director and Bush's campaign coordinator for Virginia. He certified that at the AFIO annual meeting in the fall of 1979, he counted 190 "Bush for President" buttons among 240 delegates to the convention.

During the course of the 1984 Debategate investigation, a number of Bush campaign activists were depositioned about possible abuses in the course of this campaign. Most revealing was the sworn statement of Angelo Codevilla, a former naval intelligence officer who was a fixture for a number of years on the staff of the Senate Intelligence Committee. Under questioning by John Fitzgerald, who was acting as counsel for the House subcommittee chaired by Rep. Don Albosta, Codevilla responded:

I am aware that active duty agents of the Central Intelligence Agency worked for the George Bush primary campaign. However, I cannot now remember some of these persons and I am not at liberty to identify others by names or positions because to do so would compromise their cover.

But before signing this as an affidavit, Codevilla crossed out "am aware" to "have heard" in the first sentence. In the second sentence, he cancelled "identify others" and put in "discuss these rumors." Active intelligence community officers who might have worked for the Bush campaign while still drawing their federal payroll checks were likely to have been in violation the Hatch Act, which prohibits federal employees from engaging in partisan political activity.

8. "We've got more will than wallet."
Who can not be moved to inaction with such stirring words as those uttered by Poppy at his swearing-in back in 1989? What a conservative! The guy said we might not even bother trying to make the country a better place, we can't afford it. Of course, he wasn't talking about the rich, who got to bleed the Savings and Loans dry and then recouped their winnings by loaning Uncle Sam the money it needed to bail out the banks through longterm bond sales. Nice scam for the well-connected and inside-the-loop types.

BTW: Remember, the turd Poppy said the LA riots after the Rodney King verdict were the result of the "failed Great Society" programs. What class.

9. Very, very moving.
These vermin need an enemy, even if it is a former business partner like Saddam, Manny Noriega, or the bin Ladens, who bankrolled Dim Son's Arbusto, HARKEN and Spectrum-7 bust-outs.

My fave is how they drove the Russian Federation back towards a crypto-communist totalitarianism under Putin. Instead of sending them food and toilet paper, we said we'd loan them some money to better steal their oil and gold. What better way to keep Carlyle in the black?
