Time Magazine's latest issue disgusting
Since I am home for the holidays, I looked at my parents copy of Time magazine. I dont generally read it because its usually fluff, but the Person of the Year issue is disgusting in its overall bow to the Bush administration. The US solidier man of the year is one thing, but the article itself glorifies what we have done in Iraq. Then there is the article on rumsfeld portraying him as some kind of tough military genius. All the way through to the end where the financial section tells me that the recovery is real and I should invest in stocks again.

The media is so incredibally off the deep end.

1. let me guess the stories of soldiers dying of "non-hostile" gunshot wounds
having their limps torn off or the soldiers angry that their lives have been turned upside down weren't mentioned ... I guess some soldier's stories aren't worth telling

3. Totally disgusting
Someone from Time Magazine was on one of the news shows and was asked who was the runner up for the Person of the Year. He said it would have probably been Rumsfeld but they were looking at Wolfowitz and Bush also.

5. Our soldiers to deserve a little credit dont they?
After all, they didnt make the Iraq policy. They are following orders to the letter when they trade there lives for cheap gas. They do deserve to be honored. Its the head honcho we should focus our criticism on. Our poor troops arent even allowed to express there feelings or opinions about the war. Until yesterday, they were forced to take experimental injections. These poor kids took a chance joining up hoping for money and education. They really never considered the possibility of war. We should all honor them and hope for there safe return so they can learn what there leader has done. IMHO:pals:

6. I read Times but had to do a study on it once. Found this.....
It is run to its ads. So it is a good guide to what the corp in the USA is trying to get you to believe.Look at who takes the big costly ads and the news is going to fit into that thinking. Talking up the army and you know where these corp are getting their money. It is like the reporters etc. They do not get out to talk to every day people so they read polls and talk to each other. It was so like this right back to Vietnam. Most never left the city so never really saw the war until the week it was done.

7. I didn't get that..
Maybe it's where you're at on the spectrum politically (I am a moderate) but I didn't get it was glorifing the bushies as much as just the sacrafices the soldiers are putting up with.
