Looking forward to MARTIAL LAW Code RED in LA or near LAX?!!
<strong>L.A. a top concern for terror alert </strong>
**************************

Here's the part of this article that bothers me the most -- anyone catch this?-----

"He said officials were drafting a plan in the event a terrorist act occurred and the threat level were raised to the highest level, (red)."

**Now remember what the RED alert is? MARTIAL LAW.

Plus, can they PLEASE call our country AMERICA and NOT a HOMELAND? Sick to death of this Nazi bullshit symbolism..

***********************The ARTICLE AND LINK*****************

LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- The United States Tuesday ratcheted up security on land, at sea and in the air following an "orange alert" that terrorists may again be planning to attack the homeland -- possibly using weapons of mass destruction, senior officials fear.

In Washington, one federal law enforcement official said the greatest level of concern nationally appeared to be "in L.A. and LAX," referring to Los Angeles' airport code. The city's police chief said he's more concerned than ever about the potential for terror.

"The concern at this juncture is higher than it has been in the past," Police Chief William Bratten told CNN. "This is my third orange alert since I've been here and this one is much more significant and is being responded to in a more significant way."

He said officials were drafting a plan in the event a terrorist act occurred and the threat level were raised to the highest level, (red).

11. Achtung! Achtung!
People won't be allowed to leave town if they choose. It would be a total police state, with the military having powers not seeing in this country since the British were in charge.

What the hell is that supposed to mean? So what were the other "orange alerts" if this one is "more significant"?

4. So, this is Orange Plus? Or the others were Orange Minus?

And what's the difference between Yellow Plus and Orange Minus?

Yeah, I had the same reaction to that comment. What do you mean "This one is more significant?"

13. snicker! We have met the enemy and the enemy is us. By the way,
the oil terminal in Valdez (Val-deez), Alaska is a target too.
So is a Wal Mart in Padukah and my Aunt Mildred's house in Eagle
Point, Oregon.

5. Does red alert mean martial law will definitely be

put into effect? Or is it just a possibility? I can google it if you don't have a link handy.

8. Google away and let me know too but
I'm pretty damned sure that RED Alert means you can't leave your home and you have to do what the authorities tell you, specifically those nice young men with shiny rifles and pleading eyes..

It's Martial Law if you can't leave your home.

Hard to vote that way too, these guys have a habit of floating trial balloons of all natures, have a feeling this is a test to see if they can pull it off before Chimpy gets reinstalled..

That's why I'm nowhere near the mainland anymore.. I said I was leaving and I'm one Island away from Tahiti if I need to apply for Political Asylum -- another reason why I make so much noise and those animations :)

What IS the definition of Red Alert? Stay home and watch the game, while the National Guard delivers complimentary pizzas?

5. Severe Condition (Red). A Severe Condition reflects a severe risk of terrorist attacks. Under most circumstances, the Protective Measures for a Severe Condition are not intended to be sustained for substantial periods of time. In addition to the Protective Measures in the previous Threat Conditions, Federal departments and agencies also should consider the following general measures in addition to the agency-specific Protective Measures that they will develop and implement:

Increasing or redirecting personnel to address critical emergency needs;
Assigning emergency response personnel and pre-positioning and mobilizing specially trained teams or resources;
Monitoring, redirecting, or constraining transportation systems; and
Closing public and government facilities.

15. No (unless you're in New Jersey?)...
The bit about red equalling martial law was the interpretation of some New Jersey emergency management official, reported a day or so before George and Dick's Excellent Iraq Adventure began. Officials in similar positions in other states replied that it was not even remotely close to their understanding of the guidelines. It sounds like one guy in Trenton got paranoid and overreacted.

6. Interesting...now if I were a CT type, I might
think that a code Red would be a splendid opportunity for the Gropenfuhrer to 'respond like the leader we always knew he was', and to shine just like his chimpish mentor. This bears watching, especially if it is linked to Ahhhnold's political image. But then, I am certainly not a CT type, nope, not me, perish the thought.:hippie:

14. Be prepared to find out in Nov. 2004!
I've been saying forever now that BFEE is gonna do exactly that -- stage a big terrorist scare just before election day, scare the living shit out of everybody, keep everybody home, then either

a. Save the day at the last minute and be heroes (if Bush is close in the polls)

b. cancel the elections altogether and say "we're gonna reschedule them at some future time" (if he's way behind in the polls).
