Mad Cow hits US....FDA says keep eating beef.
(sarcasm on) So reassuring knowing we have watchdog agencies keeping us safe from tainted beef, suicidal airplanes, dangerous prescription drugs obtained from Canada and rogue foreign policy makers hijacking government........I can't imagine how the good people of Germany allowed the fascists to suddenly overtake their country. Does anyone have a clue how they did that?? (sarcasm off)

1. Of course they do
They would say that regardless.

There are some interesting chapters in Molly Ivan's "Bushwacked" about the meat packing industry and the Republican Party. Mol said it was a good time to become a vegetarian with the GOP in the White House.

I think she was only half kidding.

2. It doesn't matter....
the incubation period of mad cow disease can be upt to 10 YEARS.
That is what came out of the mad cow disease investigations in
the UK. Most people that have consumed tainted meat won't be
showing any symptoms for quite some time.

Enjoy....

3. Add this one in Bush*s accomplishments
Edited on Wed Dec-24-03 12:16 AM by PatrickS
It seems everything that might have gone wrong in the US has exactly gone wrong under Dumbya. Does anyone have a list of all of Bush*s "accomplishments"?

What's next? If it keeps up like this, a nuclear "terror" strike in the US doesn't seem so far-fetched anymore!

4. I've been a vegetarian for 8 years, and am healthy, wealthy (NOT),
but definitely wise for having made this ethical choice.

GO VEG!!

5. Yup, same here.
I've said good-bye to meat and pork about 10 years ago. The "separation" was amicable. No love lost between us. I don't want to get back together again, because I don't miss them.

Of course, I felt very vindicated about 2 years ago when they had the same fracas in England. There were some amazing revelations that came out of those investigations: it turned out that cows were being fed carcasses of other cows (or was it sheep brains?) I'm not sure.

Across the English channel, it was even worse. It was discovered that french farmers feed their cows human waste. It raised a huge STINK, and several safety inspectors insisted that the French must discontinue to feed their animals turds which were diverted from the toilets, but they refused to do so. I believe they are still continuing the practice, have not checked up on it.

It's such a crappy subject, anyway.
