Did anyone see the First Chimp?
On "Reliable Sources" this weekend, bragging about how doesn't read the papers or watch the news because he's not interested in editorializing or opinions, he just wants digestible facts, which he gets from Andy Card and Condi. I'm not sure I've ever been more embarrassed by a President. Not when his dad blew chunks or when Nancy had to prompt Ron: "We're doing everything we can..."

JFK's favorite columnist was Murray Kempton, who savaged him for being too wishy washy. Kennedy liked his style and liked that Murray made him think. He liked Sheehan and Halberstam's reporting from Vietnam, although it questioned his policies.

We've fallen a long, long way since then.

3. we have fallen a long way since then ... * is symbolic of that
... he's the living embodiment of a dumb-down America ... he's Wal-Mart and enron and selfishness and greed ... he's cheap labor and no health benefits and crap TV ... JFK inspired a higher ideal ... 'ask not', and all that ...
