Freepers celebrate decision to cut health benefits for poor women, kids
Here's the orginial article and the reaction from the "pro-life, pro-family" freepers:

Young moms and concerned doctors on Thursday attacked Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's mooted health cuts, saying they could devastate local services for low income, immigrant groups.

The activists accused Schwarzenegger of hypocrisy for running on a campaign of expanding health care coverage for children, then promptly announcing $2 billion in health cuts over two years to help compensate for revenue lost after he repealed the vehicle license fee.

The cuts would hack 10 percent from Medi-Cal and freeze enrollment for all children in the Healthy Families program with separate caps for citizen and undocumented children.

Healthy Families is a scheme providing insurance for 677,000 children from low-income families throughout the state, and the proposed cuts could leave 130,000 children on an insurance waiting list in the first year, according to figures obtained from the state Department of Finance.

Women without legal immigrant standing will lose access to prenatal care, long-term care and treatment for breast and cervical cancer, health groups at a Mission district press conference said. This group is most vulnerable to the cuts, said Gladys Sandlin, executive director of the Mission Health Center. Many illegal women are working multiple jobs to keep their heads above water, she said, and would be most hit by the cuts.

"I'm not asking for charity, Medi-Cal isn't charity," she said."It's a right."

1. So the ever-caring party that loves women, family, and children...
could care less about family, women, and children? How despicable.

I say help out the illegal and poor immigrants who need it. If the right-wingers were so pious, they'd know that Jesus wants those who can help out the less fortunate to do so. Hypocritical bastards.

5. They DO love hiring a "mamacita" for their kids for a hundred a month
or a cheap gardner, or slave laborers for hubby's factory..

Karma has a way of evening these things out eventually.. They will get theirs someday..

The unempployment ladder is pretty full at the middle and bottom, and it's filling up on the top rungs too.. Those mcmansions are mortgaged to the hilt.. There may just come a time when their families will be on the losing end of paycheck lotto:)

I don't know about this whole Karma thing, though...the Bush's still have control over everything, just like they have for the past how-many-decades. If karma were true, they would've had their asses kicked years ago, wouldn't they have? :shrug:

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

One of those things Freepers never read.

I would say Medi-Cal falls under the "insure domestic tranquility" (people without healthcare get violent, didn't you see that Wesley Snipes movie?) and the "promote the general Welfare" clauses of the preamble.

they'll be crying of how their taxes paid for those services THEY need. Those services are for us freepers, not for THOSE people.

all, that $30 car tax was SOOOOO detrimental to their way of life. That $30 can buy a LOT of beer on sale at Walmart and that IS the freeper priority. Those silly kids don't need health care...

Being gop is GOOD.

I guess it must be a "right" for Senators,House Members,Cheney,Chimpboy--they sure as hell don't pay ANYONE ANYTHING for health care.

But when the average tax-paying person wants some assistance the money always runs out....

17. I wish these people were forced to live
in the world they want to create for others. Their "compassion" extends not only to liberals and others. I recall when one of their fellow posters talked about her disabled son losing coverage, they showered her with the same "kindness."

I can't imagine what it must be to go through life being so hateful, selfish and afraid. I don't hate them. I feel sorry for them.

So I guess we are not a free society, but then we knew that, didn't we? Learned our lesson in 2000 as to just who owns us all.
Free societies don't have WMDs according to Chimpy either, but it's odd, I don't hear him laying out his plans to get rid of them here...
