Terror alert at high orange... why is America safer with Saddam gone?
Someone may have already begun this discussion because it is so OBVIOUS, but I'll say it again anyway.

The Rethugs tout and taunt the Dems with this, "but America is so much safer since Saddam has been captured." They have CRUCIFIED Dean for sayin' it ain't so. On all the morning talk shows yesterday, it was buzzin' all over the place what a treasonous snake Dean is for saying such a thing.

NOW the so-called terror alert is at "orange"! How the hell can the Rethugs say that America is safer because Saddam is out of the picture? Better yet... why don't our Dem leaders and Prez candidates shove this down their nasty little throats. It seems the perfect opportunity.

They need to be saying, "It's not only not safer, but SEE, you went after the wrong guy in the first place... it's Al Qaeda and Osama Been Forgotten that are the REAL threat, morans!"

1. America IS safer!

We're safer because Howard Dean said we're not safer...and he's McGovern, no he's Gingrich, no he's Dukakis, no he's Hitler, no he's......

Well, he's not Wesley or Kerry so he's always always wrong.

2. Actually, I think the Orange Alert is for retailers.
They're doomed with George W. Bush riding shotgun on another holiday shopping season.

3. Well, for one thing,
what the immoral clueless idiots in the WH fail to recognize and plan for is that, by capturing Saddam and blasting the humiliating pictures of him all over the world, we've brought the wrath of the entire militant Islamic world down on our heads. I simply can't believe they and most "Murikans do not or will not understand that.

And, btw, when I say "humiliating" pictures, I don't, by any means, mean to express any empathy, sympathy, concern, etc., for that murderous inhuman monster of a dictator Saddam. I'm simply saying that "humiliating" is how the Islamic world is perceiving it, and it enrages even those who were not supporters of him.

And I also, for one, do not fully believe in this "alert." They've pulled this shit before numerous times, especially when they needed a bump in the polls or a distraction, so I no longer pay much attention to it, even though the threats are supposedly highest in my own area, eastern Lake Erie in Ohio.

4. Yes, but my point is...
Why don't the Dems use this to their political advantage... or do they even know how to do that?

It's just that the Republicans have been beating every Dem over the head with this "America safer after Saddam" old saw, and it's just not true. Before the "orange alert", no Dem dared say it isn't true (just look at what they did to Dean). This would be the perfect opportunity for them to turn the crap back on the thugs and really let them have it.

What more proof would they need that "America is NOT safer" with an elevated alert going on? DEMS need to use this!

5. we are safer because the "war on terror" PR campaign
message of the week is "we're safer with Saddam gone."

And now we have the orange alert to prove it.

6. The candidates
are not thinking straight. They are so intent on getting rid of Dean that they are missing opportunity after opportunity to get rid of Bush. It is so shortsighted that it verges on insanity.

7. Does anyone see the value of our Dem leaders...
capitalizing on this, or am I just trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill? Maybe it wouldn't resonate, but it appears to me that there have been a lot of inconsistencies coming from the GOP camp that they could have taken advantage of, but have just let slide down the memory hole. Sigh
