Faux propaganda... (they don't even try any more)
was surfing (on mute) and stopped on Faux because they had a pic of the deshelved saddam and under it:

TERROR ALERT HIGH

so.... we're on HIGH alert because we CAUGHT this pathetic specimen?

is that what you're saying?

so.... we're at the greatest potential for an attack which will exceed 9/11 because we won a significant victory in the war on terror?

and now, my head explodes. :nuke:

happy holidays from the dark side! :hi:

1. Try this: Create a favorite channel list..and don't include FAUX NEWS...
If your tv/satellite system will let you do it, that is.

It will make your television viewing less painful. I don't miss those suckers one bit.

2. I'd Like to See Your List
Edited on Mon Dec-22-03 12:38 AM by oostevo
I'd like to see your list. I can't find that many more that are tolerable anymore (like FSTV, Link, CSPAN, etc.). Watching CSPAN all the time is not what I'd call fun.

4. CNN was sick today.

So we're on orange alert right. Instead of reporting on it and possible scenarios and reason for a half hour, they did it for hours. Same thing Saddam. I know these things are relatively big deals, but should they hit a subject and suck it dry for an hour, move to other stuff, and reference the big shit in b/t the new shit.

B/C of Ridge and and his use of Homeland profusely (his use of it sounded unnaturaly to me, and serious, who speaks like that, its meant to inspire feeling, according to my friend with a BA in psych) the people do not know that we didn't catch Saddam. The don't know he was betrayed to the Kurds by a person whose daughter was raped by one of Saddams son. That bit will probably fall into the memory hole.

The 24/7 news is so fucked up.

6. Your list is about as complete as it gets
for news, anyway. After that add some other entertainment, educational, or other channels that cover your particular interests. And the Colours Channel is good too. FSTV is the core news channel in my opinion, although not everything they have interests me. Oh yeah, PBS often has some good stuff, especially Bill Moyers on Friday night.

Maybe its not that many channels, but its enough. Watching channels like CNN MSNBC FOX CNBC, is like that joke about the guy looking for his car keys down the street from where he dropped them because there is a streetlight right there. It's may be pretty, but it ain't news.

Another suggestion is to give yourself TIVO for Christmas. You can set it to record good shows you aren't around for so you dont have to bother with junk thats on when your able to watch.

7. I really don't use TV to get the real news...
Newsworld International and CNN International are ok, but I really rather get my info from the 'net. Between DU Late Breakin News, Salon.com, the Guardian et al., that's the best way for me to keep current and free of most of nauseating the pro-Bush & Co. spin.

I do like C-SPAN for the call in shows and Congress coverage.

3. How was Saddam a great victory?
I just wonder? 10 years of sanctions. Invading that country and taking it over as a cake walk. Fighting on ME patriots who do not want the US in there was and is a completely different thing.

Iraq was not going to take the US over. Iraq was no threat. Saddam was a thug. But seriously... it didn't impact terrorism. I'd say it will caused more terrorism, given all the parents and assorted family members we killed looking for oil (WMD).

Doublethink, now the stupid people think Iraq was justified. They are prone to forget shit apparently.

WMD! WMD! WMD!

11. Yeah, why should the terra alert
be so high if they got Saddam? I thought catching him would mean an end to terrorism.

12. As Jon Stewart said
After months of searching, we finally caught the guy who had nothing to do with 9*11.
