the first Armored Division is pretty much doing whatever the "police" force in Baghdad can't handle.

problem with that is......they stay in their armored vehicles almost all the time, and are sitting ducks for RPGs, etc.

they have as little contact as possible with Iraqis, and have ZERO training whatsover for this task.

they are VERY unhappy with their role, according to this report.

there are infantry troops close that are much better suited, but they're being kept where they are

this is just another facet in the adamantine jewel of complete and utter incompetence that characterizes EVERYthing this junta touches, except, of course, inflicting wholesale slaughter on innocent people, AND keeping the media on its own self-imposed short leash
