Anyone else dissapointed the WTC memorial/tower?
I dunno...From what I saw, the inside part looked promising...but I just don't get the odd shape of the skyline part...I would have preferred something with some resemblence to the original twin towers...

What are others' opinions of the site?

1. I've only read about the building...
Any diagrams, graphics, link available?

2. Could be taller...
if we build it high enough, we may even be able to reach the gods.

3. It disappoints me, as does the entire follow-up to 9/11...
from the stonewalled investigation, to ignored families, to stiffing NYC on promised funds, to lies about air quality in lower Manhattan. I heard Rudy Giuliani, whose views I usually disagree with, say on Imus's show yesterday that all the proposed designs emphasize office space over reverence for the dead whose remains are still there, and interpretation of the event for visitors in the years to come. He likened the site to Gettysburg, and said that in this country we preserve such sites. There was also an article in the New York Times yesterday about actual artifacts from the site being allowed to deteriorate from lack of proper storage:

6. I'm sure I can't be the only one
to see a macho, phallic symbolism in the "Freedom Tower"

7. I think we got to rebuild..
The land is too valuable
The terrorist would see not rebuilding as a victory
The sky line is missing something every since
Art will grow on most people
