200 Years ago tomorrow
the American Flag was first flown over Jackson Square in New Orleans as the Louisiana Purchase was finalized. President Bush and the President of France were invited to the reenactment, but of course we couldn't show civility to another nation by celebrating a land transaction that occurred a long time ago. The President was too busy and couldn't fit it into his schedule. Maybe he was afraid Mary Landrieu would show up and kick his ass again.
