1. Are they going to pour blood on it to consecrate it?
I'm wondering how far they'll take their macabre little 'magick' ritual.

Maybe some torch lit marches?

2. These creatures are nothing short of ghastly
On Smirk's watch, with huge amounts of warning, we were attacked (with apologies to the tinfoil hat crowd).

So......Smirk wants to get brownie points because he allowed it to happen????

4. I guess I'm even a little surprised the REPUBLICANS don't cry out
I mean, even people who wish the GOP well should see how crass and disgusting this series of stage managed events would be in light of the terrible tragedy which affected all of us in a negative way but especially those in NY who knew and loved the ones who were lost.

I hate this side of politics. When will these journalists and reporters grow some stones and do the reporting DESPITE their editors and owners?

WE NEED AL GORE, AL FRANKEN, and all the rest to get this liberal media going NOW!!!

I can't wait to say, you want liberal bias? WE'LL give you liberal bias. If you're talking Washington Post, NYTimes, ABCNews as liberal you ain't seen NOTHIN' yet.

15. nobody cares
Hate to say it, but no one cares. Where's the outrage? There is NONE.

Joe Average says "aw, who cares, they're just doing whatever it
takes to win the election. I don't really see anything wrong with
it".

It's too COMPLICATED to explain to people WHY they should
be pissed off about it. For Republicans, there just IS NO GETTING
PISSED OFF because OBVIOUSLY it will "win" them more votes! Plus,
THEY are the ones who are DOING something about 9/11, unlike
the commie, Saddam-loving, icky Boston-conventioning "Democraps".
Why shouldn't Bush consecrate that hallowed ground? He was the
HERO of 9/11, he smoked them out, captured Osama, got Saddam,
found the WMDs, put the 'adults' back in charge, and restored
Honor and Dignitude to the Oval Office.

Speaking to a fairly moderate Republican over the weekend, it
was an impenetrable concept to her. She just couldn't see why
having a 'little ceremony at Ground Zero', since the convention
was there in NYC anyway, would be a big deal? The Dems could
do it too, she said.

For Dems, the ONLY people outraged are DUers and fellow
travellers. Even most moderate Dems think it's a) too far away
(a year and 3 months), b) can't see that far ahead to imagine
how it could have much of an impact on the election, c) kind of
see it as a legitimate activity too since the GOP is having their
convention there anyway, and d) are a little bummed the Dems
didn't think of it first.

I think I've told everyone I know about this, asked them if they
cared, and it's running about 9-to-1 "I don't give a sh*t". Wish
I knew how to make them; the press sure as hell won't (why
WOULD they? They get a few extra free media extravaganza
days out of it!).

I hope they try it. It's disgusting (but very typical) and can easily be made into a "Wellstone funeral" moment.

was politicized...yet they're actually trying to get away with this--the most flagrant politicization of the greatest tragedy in the last 50 years?????

These people are sick assholes. There is something seriously wrong with them. They are facist jerkoffs.

Anyone who doesn't believe that Bush allowed 9/11 to happen, please give me one example of how it didn't benifit him.

I think this may be the symbolic petard upon which the pukes are finally hoisted.

This is in such incredibly bad taste, it can and should backfire horribly.

16. On second thought, maybe not such a bad idea.
We should wear mourning wear, have candles, and just outside, simmply and silently mourn. A few quiet prayers and thoughts, other than that, absolutley no sound whatsoever. Nothing.

What would make a better TV moment; theirs or ours?

a portion of your purchase of this fine commemoration which includes certificate of authenticity will go to the Republican National Convention.

Next we'll find new hallowed grounds will be called "Republican Freedom Center"

20. Gee, good thing they aren't politicizing 9/11
Maybe their logic is that Americans are allowed to do things like this, and in the immortal words of James Watt "There are Americans and there are Democrats".

I would criticize them for being tacky, but they wouldn't understand. Or care.

23. This is totally disgusting....seriously..this really pisses me off.
I didnt have a problem w. Bush showing up there after 9-11, as he is the president, and thats something a president should do...(no matter how much I dislike or disagree with the guy).

The problem I have is something like this so transparently being associated with a political party....the opportunism is so disgusting and transparent.

I sure hope someone stops this. This is really going too far.

Because he will be toast by the time the Republican Exploi-vention takes place in NYC. His lies and his shredding of the social safety net will undo him. Karma will catch him long before September, 2004.

25. Almost 3,000 people died there so this administration
would have an excuse to invade Afghanistan to build their pipeline and to invade Iraq for their oil.

What needs to be done is to start a media blitz just before the repugs event, raising questions about how this had been allowed to happen on bu$h'$ watch.

Things like why did it take so long to get any fighter jets in the air.

Why the Pentagon was hit before any response was made.

Questions on how and why Trade Center 7 collapse when it had not been damaged.

Given the construction of the Twin Towers, how did they collapse and not have any of the 40 some columns each sticking out of the rubble?

Tie all the civilian deaths of 9/11 & wedding parties and hospitals and market places to the repugs.

Why are our soliders still dying after bu$h declared victory?
