that's when Bush said the Mission was accomplished, and that the Regime is "no more"

Bush to troops in Qatar: 'Mission accomplished'
Thursday, June 5, 2003 Posted: 2:06 PM EDT (1806 GMT)

DOHA, Qatar (CNN) -- President Bush told U.S. troops in Qatar on Thursday that their duty and sacrifice had liberated the people of Iraq and helped in defeating global terrorism.

-snip-

Bush told the troops that coalition forces will "reveal the truth" in their search for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

"We're going to look," Bush said. "We'll reveal the truth, but one thing is certain -- no terrorist network will gain weapons of mass destruction from the Iraqi regime because the Iraqi regime is no more."

------------------------------------------------

the regime has been "no more" for 6 months now, and the possibility of terrorists getting WMD from Iraq has been over for 6 months now.

arresting Saddam is meaningless in this context...

though it makes me wonder- if the regime ended 6 months ago, and the WMD threat ended 6 months ago, why are we still there???

:wtf:

(I posted this in another thread, but on reflection it seems like a good stand-alone)

3. Why to make the world safe
for freedom and democracy, of course! :eyes:

Pay no attention to the troops and Iraqi civilians who continue to get killed. And surely don't question the billions of dollars being paid out to Bush's corporate cronies worldwide.

Go back to sleep to the sound of MSNBCFOXCNN droning in your ears.

4. it's nice to know we don't have to look for the WMD anymore
since Saddam, and Saddam only, is apparently the only homo sapiens in Iraq who would give them away, and even then only if he was still in his palace, in 100% power

no more problem now! Those thousands of litres, hundreds of tons, will NOT fall into the hands of terrorists

:eyes:

(thanks for the reply!)

5. hey money, when you get a 100 million, you're going to have to
kiss somebody's ass. the only thing really good about this for bush is he's getting the military to do his kissing for him.
