Mission Accomplished!
Now finally we can bring our troops home and leave those innocent Iraqi citizens in peace.

6. We can force them into the corner, as long as we say it...
We all know that Junior's in no hurry to leave this profit center he calls Iraq.

Keep holding him to his words. Eventually he, Dick, and the gang will hang themselves on them.

4. If there is anything this phrase invokes, it is the parade of horribles
that followed that Mission accomplished photo op.

Saddam may be captured, but the peace is not present in Iraq nor were any WEAPONS of mass desruction found. Even if there was a "weapons PROGRAM", that COULD have been discovered by inspections.

Plans do not make an imminent threat, a clear and present danger, nor a reason to bankrupt America on behalf of GWB's campaign donors who have been caught red handed looting.

5. Foolish
Here's the analogy I used in another thread:

If I trashed YOUR room looking for a toy I wanted, would I leave the mess for YOU to clean up once I found the toy? Totally irresponsible. This invasion and occupation is total BULLSHIT, but we made the mess. I agree we should bring the UN in, but the US can't leave. We made this mess in the first place.

7. misconception

Not suggesting that US is not responsible for making whole what we broke. Clearly reparations for the families of the 1000s we killed are in order. But continued occupation leads to more mess not less!

7. If your campaign is successful and the troops are brought home right away, won't there be a catastrophe in Iraq and further suffering by the people there? Don't we have an obligation to clean up the mess we have made?

We absolutely have a responsibility to help clean up the mess that we have helped to create. We have a responsibility to help re-build the country that we helped destroy.

But the reconstruction of Iraq cannot take place under US military occupation, it cannot happen at gunpoint. It cannot truly begin until the US has ceded military control. This is yet another reason we say: Bring Them Home Now!

Much of the chaos and violence in Iraq right now is in direct response to the U.S. military occupation. The critical first step to creating order and civil society in Iraq is a commitment by the U.S. to end the military occupation and remove the U.S. military presence from the country.

8. You're right.
But the saddest thing about your analogy is knowing that our country has resorted to childish behavior as a form of foreign policy.

9. We all know the reality.
Edited on Sun Dec-14-03 01:44 PM by ClassWarrior
I'm talking spin. The UN needs to be brought in immediately, and the US needs to replace the immoral crony capitalists who created this mess in the first place, before anyone can accomplish anything along the lines of reconstruction.

The only way to do that is to make sure Junior and his thugs hang themselves on their own words - daily between now and November.

And I'd expect you bring in the UN to help pick up my toys, btw. After all, if you're gonna trash 'em in the first place, how can I expect you to put 'em back nicely?

But hope begins by insisting that we bring our troops home now. It will happen sooner or later. The sooner the better.

12. Won't change a thing.
The Iraqi's still have a nationalistic history..America still is not a liberator... I even expect it will inflame some elements and this will have no effect upon the attacks upon Americans...

16. You got it.
This isn't about Iraq. Never was. They're going to be invading other Arab countries from there. Iraq is just a beachhead.

Edited on Sun Dec-14-03 02:33 PM by notsodumbhillbilly
But since he had nothing to do with 9/11 and was no threat to this nation, I'd much rather have seen Osama captured.
