Anyone else expecting a 'Jack Ruby' moment?
I know I am. Color me skeptical, but Saddam, captured alive and well, seems ripe for martyrdom if he is killed by a zealot.

I hope I'm wrong.

If this were truly good news for the world, * wouldn't be hiding in the WH, weighing the homefront political ramifications of any statement he will have to make in the coming hours.

Interesting that I am not the only one.

5. No, you are not the only one. I've been thinking the same thing.
And I wouldn't be surprised if it happened.

7. Thought of it, too...
The circumstances of his capture (surrender without a fight) diminish the potential for martyrdom, but a trial could be embarrassing for those countries that had formerly supported the regime.

But I wouldn't expect it for a while...maybe before that actual start of a trial...and I'll bet the trial will be scheduled after Nov. 2004.

10. actually the word isn't "skeptical"
it's "cynical". ;-) I share your cynicism. There's no way they're gonna let this guy sing any songs, that's for sure.

11. No, SH only important to IRAQ and Bush ADMIN not world.
JFK was important to the world. SH Saddam Husein will be kept quiet and is only important to Iraq, Iraq that had nothing to do with 9/11 and further world threat with WMD. The capture of Saddam is important for Bush's war troops stuck by Bush into Iraq.
