1. Yeah, does this mean Joe Lieberman will now be our candidate?
And Bush has just "checkmated" Dean?

5. well..
I think its good for Gephardt. He helped draft the resolution. I bet his labor support will be happy about this capture.

Kerry will say, "this is good, but it wasn't done right. buncha fuck ups. it took too long" etc. :D

Lieberman will be ecstatic. He's the only guy calling for more troops.

Dean will certainly have some explaining to do...

Saddam's trial will be dragged on by the Bushites for political gain.

3. IWR or not - Bin Laden is still at-large and Iraq is not self-governing
Edited on Sun Dec-14-03 07:02 AM by SahaleArm
Those two issues are still open to attack. Will we see an increase in insurgents?

7. What Saddam's capture will do
Is make Bush appear strong in the war of terror and Iraq/Saddam area.

Meaning Clark is the best equiped to show that this is not the case.

This is what Bush will run on for sure now. They will be able to manipulate the timing of any trial to their benefit, thereby, the media will be in their pockets...... as usual.

It does take the Halliburton fraud story off the front page...that's for sure.

8. It's going to take everything off the front page
for quite a while... I think it will be interesting to see how some of the candidates change their strategies (if not their positions... being politicians and all)

I agree with you about Clark, BTW... but what do I know, I'm just a Clark supporter. :hi:

11. It makes him stronger on Iraq if and only if insurgency decreases...
Clark has already called Iraq a sideshow while attacking the president for not attacking terrorists. That has always been his main attack point and will continue regardless of Iraq.

9. C'mon folks..
Do you really think this is going to make Iraq an oasis of peace?

It will effect the primaries. The media will try to paint the anti-war camp as irrelevant. It will take the wind out of some sails, but remember, these are democrats that will be voting.

By the time of the general election, this will be year-old news. And unless we've pulled out by then, Iraq will still be on the table.

10. Dean's line is now...
Edited on Sun Dec-14-03 07:10 AM by Paragon
There are now an estimated 15 to 30 different insurgent groups throughout Iraq, just as the CIA predicted - none of which were led by Saddam Hussein. Iraq, and America, are no safer - in fact, less safe - with Bush's policies.

Damn, I'm good. Somebody in the Dean campaign call me. :silly:

14. But we have to be strategic...
about the general election....

If you don't do that, then it will all be suicide!

You can't just vote for a nominee not taking into consideration who can beat George Bush!

That would be sheer folly!

15. I still haven't made a decision about Clark
But I don't think this makes *enough* difference to change my views on the other candidates.

13. depends on how bush handles or mishandles it
if bush doesnt pull alotta of the troops out it will just show that it wasnt about saddam it also depends if the iraqis/forgieners will up the attacks now that one dictator is gone and those attacks wont be from saddam loyalists any more also depends on how many more us soliders will die
of course you do have to account for the press whore coverage of his holy emperor bush
