I'm just curious...how much money have you contributed to presidential candidates this year?

6. Clark, Dean & DK = $120, and $25 to MWO
plus a small donation to GBNC's campaign. AWD gets one after the holidays.

plan to give more when we need it the most. I can barely afford it, but I absolutely can't afford not to.

8. limited because I'm on a pension
but I'll get to the $2000 before this is over.

Donations to MoveOn and elsewhere are seperate and not included. This is just donations to my candidate.

I wonder if you can guess who that is?

9. I actually haven't kept track
Several $20 donations and one for $30.

All my money goes to Kucinich. :) (Just like all my hopes for a future like the one described in the Welfare State thread!)

10. Unfortunately,
Edited on Sat Dec-13-03 01:20 PM by in_cog_ni_to
I wasted $500 on the Dean campaign. :( I wish I had it back so I could give it to Clark. So far, I have given $500 to the Clark campaign and plan on giving the limit.

13. I am truly sorry
that you feel you wasted money on the Dean campaign, and not just because I'm a Dean supporter. Wasting money is always a bad thing. If Dean is the eventual nominee do you think you will change your mind? If Clark is, and since you must have donated to Dean before Clark entered the race, can you instead view that donation as one to get Bush out of the White House more than as a specific donation to the candidate?

11. Over $1000 so far
all to Howard Dean. This is the first time in my life (I'm 55) I've ever contributed to a candidate.

I know that the vast majority of Dean's contributors are doing it for the first time. I wonder if that's also true of the other candidates? If so, that's a HUGE change in the financing of elections, or at least of Democratic candidates.

12. Fiscal year 1999...
...I was making 40k annum, and donated $0 politically.

Fiscal year 2003, I'll end annum of MAYBE 20k. Over the past three years. $300 to Dean. $110 to Progressive Majority. An amount to this particular site. $50 to Wellstone. $100 to various left leaning websites in one time paypal donations. It's that important to me to take my country back, and once we do, I'll want to ensure that I continue my civic efforts to keep it once we get it back.

14. my selection looks bigger than it is - its spread
between 4 candidates. Feel that the primaries are important and that messages shouldn't be excluded/drowned out. I could give to a few more before primaries are over - who knows. Haven't chosen a final candidate - my donations at this point do not translate into anything more than a "vote" of confidence that I think that each candidate's voice is important to the process.

I can honestly say that I have never taken this approach before.

15. I've given so many times to Dean I've lost count
I know I started with $250, then $100, $100, $100, $100, $100.
Gave $100 yesterday, maybe another $100 today.

Maybe a few $40 here and there also.

I notice I tend to give when I get really pissed off by other candidates, and sometimes when I get mad at posters here at DU.

Seems like I'll have quite a few more opportunities to give $ if this campaign goes on the way it has been.

Edited on Sat Dec-13-03 02:01 PM by Tinoire
I had given Dean and Sharpton money early on ($200 each) but Kucinich gets the bulk of my money.

I just donated my entire hefty Christmas bonus for this ad because I want to see it televised throughout the entire US.
