incredible website: www.thirdworldtraveler.com
check it out.... www.thirdworldtraveler.com is a great resource for liberal/progressive/radical writing of all sorts. Also a lot of information about the world in general and especially politics all over the globe.

2. a lot of inaccuracies
There is a lot of stuff on there that I would dispute. I think they are less interested in facts than making a political impression. I was not impressed, but I haven't been there in a while.

I think that the website is associated with Ramsey Clark. I generally lose faith in a 'progressive' website when they start quoting this dictator loving stalinist.

5. If you haven't been
to the "third world" in awhile, I suggest a visit. People in "the South" are a much less ignorant than Americans. Ramsey Clark is a hero and you sound like a freeper.

12. Sometimes I wish
it were easier to recognize the yung'uns. Their education has been so sorely neglected. :sigh: Would that exposure here could help.

8. Dictator loving Stalinist?
Would you care to post some of these many inaccuracies? It would help people understand where you're coming from.

I haven't read everything on that site but I've scoured it extensively and have yet to find these inaccuracies. I first found them when I was working on Haiti and was thrilled to find them because they were oneof the few sites calling the situation correctly and exposing the filth as filth regardless of which Party was doing it.

3. Kick
It's a really good resource. Lotta info there.

(Sure it may have some inaccuracies, or they may be different interpretations. But overall it's worth perusing.)

4. wow
What a great site. Thanks for posting it. Its full of great quotes.
Here is one that caught my eye . . .

The biggest political joke in America is that we have a liberal press. It's a joke taken seriously by a surprisingly large number of people...
The myth of the liberal press has served as a political weapon for conservative and right-wing forces eager to discourage critical coverage of government and corporate power ... Americans now have the worst of both worlds: a press that, at best, parrots the pronouncements of the powerful and, at worst, encourages people to be stupid with pseudo-news that illuminates nothing but the bottom line."

9. Wonderful resource!
They featured this great quote:

Leaders symbolize what the country stands for. As corruption becomes routine in Washington in both parties, it trickles down as a corrupting influence in everyone's lives... Democracy is the ultimate casualty, and the sapping of democratic life is the most serious contribution of corporate ascendancy to our spiritual decline. As democracy ebbs, Americans retreat into private cocoons, feeling helpless to make a difference... In a democracy, civic participation and the belief in one's ability to contribute to the common good is the most important guarantor of public morality. When that belief fades, so too does the vision of the common good itself."
Charles Derber, Corporation Nation

Outstanding.

Thank you.

11. their stuff on Reagan is great
for one example

mark hertsgaard's book "On Bended Knee" is a primer for how the pugs have controlled the simpering twits in the media for over twenty years

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=104&topic_id=792604z

from above:

David Gergen, former White House director of communications, confirmed shortly after leaving the administration in January 1984 that President Reagan and most of his advisers had come to believe that the basic goal of their approach to the news media-"to correct the imbalance of power with the press so that the White House will once again achieve a 'margin of safety' "- had finally been attained.

and did anyone see those fools from the NY Times on CSPAN yesterday, defending their total LACK of reporting on this junta.

one example, when several callers asked Bumiller and Taubman why they weren't doing anything on Plame, they said, basically, that the (government) investigation hadn't been coming up with anything lately, so there wasn't anything to report!!!!!

gee, Woodward and Bernstein, by those lights, wouldn't have come up with much of a Watergate story on that basis, would they.

very pathetic performances by these administration stenographers
