Willie Nelson Concert For Kucinich
I heard that in Austin they are having Willie, and Bonnie Raitt and Michelle Shocked for DK. Great line up!

You know I think the GOPers pretty much have to abandone that line about "oh the Dems and the Hollywood crowd..." Is anybody more "Hollywood" in the worst sense of the word than Der Gropinator?

I say let's call on every freedom loving musician of every stripe to call out GWBs misdeeds at their shows, give out some websites and info and stuff, I say use every single platform we have.

8. Willie Nelson

I am endorsing Dennis Kucinich for President because he stands up for heartland Americans who are too often overlooked and unheard. He has done that his whole political career. Big corporations are well-represented in Washington, but Dennis Kucinich is a rare Congressman of conscience and bravery who fights for the unrepresented, much like the late Senator Paul Wellstone. Dennis champions individual privacy, safe food laws and family farmers. A Kucinich Administration will put the interests of America's family farmers, consumers and environment above the greed of industrial agribusiness.

I normally do not get too heavily involved in politics, but this is > more about getting involved with America than with politics. I encourage people to learn more about Dennis Kucinich at http://www.kucinich.us and I will be doing all I can to raise his profile with voters. I plan to do concerts to benefit the campaign.

Willie Nelson

3. cool
I didn't know Bonnie Raitt was involved too, that's great.

I think one of the guys from Barenaked Ladies is a big Kucinich supporter. I remember reading that somewhere, perhaps on Kucinich's website.

Dennis Kucinich represents the values of millions of Americans, many of whom we meet every day in our travels across this great country. His are the politics of inclusion, compassion, and fair play.

4. Good article regarding that ...
<snip>

Bruce springsteen told a crowd of 50,000 New Yorkers on October 4th to "shout a little louder if you want the president impeached." Two weeks later, John Mellencamp posted an open letter to America on his Web site, declaring, "We have been lied to and terrorized by our own government, and it is time to take action." Meanwhile, Moby, Eddie Vedder and Michael Stipe are organizing a TV-ad campaign that will run anti-Bush commercials during the week of the State of the Union address in January; Dave Matthews is railing against the war in Iraq in interviews; and at press time, at least three multiband rock tours planned to take aim at Bush-administration policies. Green Day, NOFX, Tom Morello, Dixie Chicks, Don Henley, Willie Nelson and Steve Earle have all played (or plan to play) for political candidates or causes. Hip-hop stars have also gotten involved. "We have a voice and a responsibility to speak out," says Jay-Z, a member of Russell Simmons' Hip-Hop Summit, which aims to register 4 million voters before the 2004 election. "People listen to us."

9. Everybody loves Willie Nelson
Remember Wag the Dog?

The fact that Willie Nelson is holding concerts for a Democratic candidate reminds a lot of people why they should vote Democratic. Kucinich is helping to build the party, good for him.

Kucinich has the ability to appeal across the spectrum of Democrats, Perot voters, McCain voters, Nader voters, and fans of Ron Paul and libertarians.
