Is Bush getting worse at speaking in public?
I just saw his statement on the Gas price gouging Halliburton thing. I swear he is practically stuttering now. Is there something really wrong with him or was he always this bad? Then there is the smirk at the end like he said something really biting! How will the repugs get him in shape to go against our nominee.

1. I'm waiting for his eyes to start rolling and his tongue to pop
our of his mouth-I saw that "speech" too, and it was bad, even for him.

4. Yeah, I noticed that.
NOT that I was actually listening to IT, mind you. But it really doesn't matter; Junior is now a Known Quantity. People either like him or hate him. It will be up to the Dem nominee to show the voters in the Center that bush needs to be replaced.

And part of that, amazingly, will be if the Dem can pass the Beer Buddy Test...

29. Well let me extrapolate
Rove will do everything in his power (which is extensive) to limit the number of debates. He knows * is awful in front of the camera and with reporters (if the last 3 years have taught us anything). He will insist on:

- Being able to choose from list of questions pre-delivered.
- Many debates between Cheney and ? so to deflect from *.
- Place dupes into the audience to ask stupid questions "Mac or PC"?
- Limit answers to some short time frame so nobody will sound coherent.

That's my theory.

32. granted, but
Will America let Rove/them get away with that? I mean this is a Presidential election we're talkin 'bout!

my thoughts on your points:

- Being able to choose from list of questions pre-delivered.
don't believe this will fly.

- Many debates between Cheney and ? so to deflect from *.
ok, good point.

- Place dupes into the audience to ask stupid questions "Mac or PC"?
Interesting, but I've never seen that approach in a POTUS debate. Maybe Rove/Bush will set a new low in 2004.

- Limit answers to some short time frame so nobody will sound coherent.
Nuthin' new there.(agreed)

thanks for playing "Who's Country is This?" tonight

That's my theory.

34. But does it matter?
He could pass out and poop in his pants on stage, and the talking heads will all assure everyone that he won the debate--and, since so few people will actually watch it, they'll all believe he won.

Really, now, that isn't too far from what happened last time . . .

15. The key to bush's speech problems was covered in "the bush Dyslexicon"
By Mark Crispen Miller .

You see bush speaks well when talking about
Killing people or sick jokes like the one aimed
at David letterman after his heart surgery .

but when bush is trying to tune in to the sensitivity
of the people's issues . He can't do it . He stammers
all over the place .

This is how you can tell the issues he really cares about .

When he is pretending to care he can't do it well
but when it comes to Slaughter he is quite the astute
speaker .

20. Read the book "The Bush Dyslexicon"
Edited on Fri Dec-12-03 08:39 PM by proud patriot
it goes into greater detail and gives many examples
of the pattern . Yes it is Scary , becuase he is so
easily dismissed as Stupid , but when you delve into
it you find it's less stupidity and more of Pshychotic
characteristics .

And more arrogant, smug, condescending, intellectually slow, and...did I mention, lazy.

I'm certain that he doesn't want to do it for another five years, but he will for his daddy and the neo-con masters he represents.

21. the house of cards is falling apart
I can only hope. The first crack in their armor was Rice stammering while trying to excuse the fact that she had be warned about 911. Aside from a boost during the war when everyone was afraid to criticize them, the whole administration has been fraying at the edges. I hope.

36. The hunch-and-bob has been getting worse
As you all have noticed, Bush begins hunching his shoulders, leaning forward, and bobbing his head up and down as he speaks, the more difficulty he has getting his message across. It almost seems like he's trying to force some meaning out of his head when his vocabulary and normal human speech patterns fail him. It truly becomes a simian-like display of bobbing up and down. I can almost hear Cheetah from the Tarzan movies going "EEEEEK EEEEEEK" as she bobs up and down trying to tell Tarzan about approaching danger.
