As I read here and elsewhere, one thought keeps coming to mind: we have a crop of terrific candidates!
No, each and every one is not my "ideal." But (excepting Gephart and Lieberman, whom I can't forgive for whoring) the rest of the bunch are good people, and would push for a lot of the ideals we stand for.
Sharpton and Brown, although destined to fail, show that African Americans only really belong to our party. Both are bright, and can clean the clocks of the media skunks, one on one.
Kerry, Dean, Edwards: I would not hesitate to support them enthusiastically, either.
So, despite all the flaming and seeming dissension here about the "favorites" of each of us, we are blessed with a plethora (God, I love that word) of fine candidates who stand for many progressive ideals.
And, unlike Bush, they don't worship Satan and all his minions. So, as Carl Spackler said "They got that goin' for 'em."
Moreover, we progressives are gonna have a lot more input into the selection of a candidate than in the past.
