8. I'm not affiliated with any party... I hate repukes...
but I don't feel the need to register myself as a democrat... there are elements in the party that I don't like (DLC, corporate lobbyist drones)

plus, I refuse to announce a loyalty to a party because I feel the two-party system is wrong and corrupt... the US should be more parliamentary.

12. who is ken krawchuk?
and if Bush is your top choice - why are you here... it is sorta the exact opposite of the stated purpose of the website (though as long as you don't bash democrats, start flame wars, or spout rightwing talking points... the rules (and most members agree) state you are welcome. I am just curious.

14. Just so you know
If you say you intend to vote for Bush, you're going to get banned. I'd rather not be responsible for getting anyone banned, so if you're reading this and support Bush, you probably don't want to respond to this question. Personally, I like the idea of mature Republicans posting here and reading because I believe that people from all parties share the same basic concerns and have some commong ground. Sometimes all it takes is realizing that for people to decide to vote for someone else. Anyhow, I just wanted to say that. And thanks for the responses so far.

23. Wow.
I thought someone had to be a disrupter or spew right wing crap to get banned. You mean that a persons voting choice is grounds for banning even if they don't cause trouble or puke RW talking points? Wow.

27. I learned this the hard way
I was asking a question to conservative lurkers. It was a really great discussion, very respectful and conservatives and liberals were actually agreeing on gay rights! It was beautiful. But then someone wielding banning power came along and chose to smite every poster who admitted to being a conservative. I felt awful.

15. Independent/North Carolina
Howard Dean.

FWIW, I used to be registered as a democrat, but changed for a reason that Howard Dean is speaking too: democrats were not enough of an opposition party.

In NC, I can, and will, vote in the dem primary.

17. Could people add whether they're independent along the R/D or G/D scale?
It would help in determining which type of independent is swinging to which candidate.

21. Being more specific about my leanings
I'm closest to a moderate/centrist Independent, or the typical swing voter that both parties target and appeal to in every election.

I'm essentially pro-choice, pro-2nd Amendment, want a balanced budget and the things most middle of the road voters want. I don't care about the whole family values angle, morality or who is having sex with who. I just want to live my life as I see fit, be able to get ahead and couldn't care less about what others do as long as it doesn't harm me or mine.

Again, Dean is the only one I REALLY want to vote for. I'll most likely vote for whoever is running against Bush, but Dean is the one who most represents what I believe in.
