How Bush Blew It

A year from now there will be lots of books and articles with titles like How Bush Blew It. Here's my prediction of the topics that will be covered:

• Bush kept committing himself to extreme positions and getting caught out on a limb. He lost control of the center.
• The tax giveaway to the rich did not jump start the economy. "Leading economic indicators" weren't as important to ordinary people as the price of pork chops, which they could not afford.
• The prospect of unending war frightened parents of draft-age young people.
• American travelers got tired of being hated throughout the world.
• Bush relied on faulty information regarding his own popularity. As it turned out, he was not as beloved as he thought.
• Dean ran a helluva campaign. Who knew there were that many Democrats?

1. One can only hope!

Let's hope Bush continues on in the same vein for the next few months. The economy typically goes in the hole after Christmas, when everybody is broke and people get laid off. This will probably be a time when things look unusually gloomy, no thanks to "George the Genius".

I do not wish ill for anyone here in the US, but it may have to come to that before it hits home. As for myself, I have SO many friends who are stone broke, have no jobs, and scrambling and wondering how in the hell they are going to pull off Xmas.

You're right: Dean is looking awfully good right about now.

2. You forgot...

The Rush Limbaugh clones saying he lost because 'he was not a Real Republican(tm), which is what they said when Bush the Greater and Bob Dole lost to Clinton.

3. Unable to play poker very well, if at all.

Always Bluffing. Or: A phoney. Fooling people is OK if you don get caught, Fooling people blatently with Photo Ops/Stunts does not lend well to credibility(respect).

In Poker, if you got no respect, you aint shit.
