Poll question: Should Nancy Pelosi be the Democratic leader in the House?
Personally, I like her. I checked her out on the issues and everything she believes in I, more or less, believe in as well.

1. She needs a better partner in the Senate
Daschle cut our throats on Medicare. He doesn't have the slightest idea what it means to be the opposition.

2. I say keep her
Compared to Gebhart she is a breath of fresh air. Not perfect, but a major improvement. She won the vote on the Medicare bill, but the vote was stolen by people who don't know what the word DEADLINE means.

9. She should leave only if Dean selects her for VP
She's a helluva lot better than Gephardt ever was. And, she voted against IWR.

10. I like her, but...
it's a tough job for anybody these days. White house and Republican majority pressure is brutal and anybody in that job has to be far too careful to not lose what little they have left.

Having said that, though, I'm thinking Charlie Rangel or Barney Frank would really light the place up.

11. I supported Harold Ford when he challenged her
I just don't see why it's necessary to give the GOP fodder by putting someone who represents san fransisco, and isn't particularly elequent or charismatic lead house dems, over someone with a much brighter future.
